Typographic Book

The goal of this project is to, not just tell a story, but to also enhance the meaning of it through typographic expression. Typography can shape the readers understanding; it can inspire; it can add visual interest; and of course it communicates. Through this project, typographic expression is used to create a visually dynamic and intellectually challenging book that will inform, inspire, and delight the reader. Through the use of typography, I designed an expressive retelling of the classic short story: The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe. The use of the limited color palette and stark contrast is meant to convey a dark and moody feeling to the viewer. By using type to create forms, I illustrate events and ideas presented in the text.
